Lighting is the most important piece of taking a photograph. It’s also the best way to individualize your work and create uniqueness in your projects. I’ve done and will continue to research into classic and newer methods of lighting. I want to learn how to duplicate any light I want to learn the rules so that I can break then and create art. For instance, in the photo above I used a barebuld strobe. I wanted to create hard shadows to accentuate muscle tone, so I kept my light source small and positioned it just beside camera, right above the head. I missed. The shadow fell way ahead of the body but created a pretty cool effect. A few positions shift and remote photos later I came out with this image. I stumbled across a new way to light, and learn a new trick to add to my arsenal.
